July // Favorites

Hello everyone! Needless to say, I haven't been blogging a lot. I haven't blogged at all this month! One of my goals this year was to blog at least every other week, but unfortunately, I failed at that one.

It's hard to believe that the year is half over; where is the summer going?! I'll have an update post up soon telling what I've been up to.

Here are my current favorite things (in no particular order).

///green tea (specifically iced) or any iced tea

///driving. I started driving last month and I love it! I didn't think I would like it very much, but I really like it; driving is fun!

///Selena Gomez. My favorite songs are "Birthday", "Stars Dance", "Slow Down", and "Like A Champion".

///high-waisted shorts. They make my legs look longer and slimmer. Plus I love the retro vibe they give off.

///Pinterest. I've been on Pinterest for a while now, but recently I've been pinning a lot of photography. Don't forget to follow me! http://pinterest.com/rebeccaannland/

///top knots. My hair has gotten really long, so putting it up is a great way to get it out of the way.

///blogilates. she has kick-butt workouts! You definitely need to check her out.

///red lipstick. it's classic!

///Graceland. I discovered this new show last week, and I'm hooked!

///tennis. I started playing tennis a few weeks ago and it's now my favorite form of cardio.

Now that I finally posted something after over a month, I'm going to try really hard to go back to posting every week.

Have a fabulous week!

Orange

shirt: JCPenney / skirt: Forever 21 / cardigan: Target / camisole: JCPenney / sandles: Payless / purse: JCPenney /
flower ring: Charlotte Russe /

Orange is one of my favorite colors to wear; it’s bright and cheery, and it goes great with my skin tone.

When I first tried this skirt on with the shirt, I wasn't sure the orange and floral would go together, but I ended up liking the way it looked, and this is the second time I've worn this outfit. The first time I wore it, I wore a belt over the top of the cardigan to accentuate my waist. I took a picture with the cardigan so you could see what it looks like with it.

High-waisted shorts and skirts made your legs look slimmer and longer, which is great for a short person like me (I’m 5’4 if you’re wondering). If you want your legs to look even more slimming, wear high heels or wedges with this outfit. I thought about wearing wedges, but I wanted it to be more casual.

recently.

There’s a tree that grows in Brooklyn. Some people call it the Tree of Heaven. No matter where its seed falls, it makes a tree which struggles to reach the sky. It grows in boarded-up lots and out of neglected rubbish heaps. It grows up out of cellar gratings. It is the only tree that grows out of cement. It grows lushly . . . survives without sun, water, and seemingly without the earth. It would be considered beautiful except that there are too many of it.  – A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith

Life is busy with the quick coming of summer. I'm still finishing up a few subjects in school, but I'm almost done! I’ve been neglecting my blog a lot lately, and I'm sorry. I keep telling myself that I’m going to post more than once a week, but so far, I haven’t in a long time. I guess I just haven’t been in the mood to blog recently.

My summer reading list is coming along pretty well (read about my reading list here). I started The Grapes of Wrath at the end of last month, but I got bored and I started reading Little Women instead. I’ll finish The Grapes of Wrath later…maybe. It was really hard to understand; I was only on the third or fourth chapter and I was already bored. I finished Little Women, and now I’ve started A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. I really enjoyed Little Women. I didn’t like the second part as much as the first, but it was still good. I love Jo, she’s my favorite (obviously!).

Last Friday, I got my permit! I’d been putting it off for a while, but I’m glad I went ahead and took the test. Now to start driving! I’m having my first driving lesson with my dad tomorrow; I’m excited!

My camera has stopped working, I’m not sure if it’s permanent or not. It was doing this before and it started working again, but so far it’s been over a week and it’s still not. Since it’s only a point and shoot, I never appreciated it much, but now that I don’t have my own camera to use, I appreciate it a lot! I only have the point and shoot of my family’s to use, so keeping up with photography might be difficult.

That's pretty much all I've been up to recently. Have a great Father's Day weekend!
